l would like to upgrade my game. l have played about 25-30 games so far and would like to improve my game some more.

Here r a few tips l can offer as a guy who loves the game & plays at a high level. l will assume u know the basics of the game:

1. Get extremely fit. Do lots of running, weights, pliometrics & stretching. It will pay huge dividends on the court & keep u in rallies longer. Being able to retrieve the near impossible is the mark of a great squash player. The best players r also the fittest. Jansher Khan used to simply say '' l am fitter so l win.'' Many players, amateur & pro, win their matches based on superior fitness alone.

2. Do lots of drills to improve accuracy. Learn to hit the ball TIGHT to the side walls & put ur opponent in the corners. Practice ur volley drops so that they die in the front corners. Hitting ur shots tighter & deeper will make life much tougher on ur opponents.

3. Deception. Pretend to hit the ball one way & send it the other. Deceiving ur opponent will put him constantly on the defensive & tire him out faster. It will also make it harder for him to attack you. Pretend to drop then flick the ball past him at the last moment. Throw in a sudden attacking boast. It will give ur opponent is fits!
