As you all know by now, Shahar Peer of Israel was denied a visa to play in the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships in the United Arab Emirates. Yesterday, as a result, WTA Tour president Larry Scott has considered pulling the tournament off of next year is calendar. What l applaud, though, is the Tennis Channel is decision to pull their coverage of the tournament off of the air. It is a quiet protest to a completely unfair decision, and to whoever at the Tennis Channel made the decision, l say kudos and well done.

The UAE has demonstrated they're racist in their discriminatory practice of banning Israeli athletes.

In 1974 India fortified a Davis Cup match against South Africa in protest of their Apartheid policies & as a result South Africa was banned from all future Davis Cup & Fed cup events.

So this is only the start as the UAE must be removed from all sanctioned ATP/WTA calender events until they remove the ban on Israeli athletes.
